What I Believe

It's all about Jesus.

“I believe there is more than believing. There is living what I believe.”

~ Ann Voskamp

  • I believe … in the glorious, eternal, all-sufficient I AM, the Three-In-One God Who is the Designer and Keeper of creation, the Manager of the Universe, the Architect of all time, and the Author of the story of every heart (Psalm 83:18, Isaiah 40:28-29, Ephesians 4:6).
  • I believe … that creation, in its origins, processes, beauty, diversity, and majesty, in a small way reflects the character of its Creator, Who made His masterpiece ex nihilo by the word of power at the beginning of time (Genesis 1:1, Romans 1:20, Psalm 33:6).
  • I believe … that although God’s general revelation shouts from the world around us, His special revelation is confined to His Word, the Bible, infallible and inerrant, breathed by inspiration of the Spirit of God (2 Timothy 3:16, 2 Peter 1:21, Hebrews 4:12).
  • I believe … that to a world full of His enemies, God came down in the Person of Jesus Christ, fully human and fully divine, born of a virgin and perfect in holiness, our only path back to the God we had renounced (John 1:14, Colossians 2:9, 1 John 3:5).
  • I believe … that the death of Jesus broke the chains of sin, that the resurrection of Jesus offered us eternal life, and that the ascension of Jesus reminds us of His triumphant second coming to rule and reign (1 Peter 2:24, John 11:25-26, Revelation 1:7).
  • I believe … that I who fall so far short of my role as the image-bearer of God find forgiveness and freedom through my belief in Jesus’ atonement, and that my “reasonable service” can be no less than to live for the purposes of God throughout the rest of my earthly life and for all eternity (1 Peter 1:18-20, 1 Corinthians 6:20, Romans 12:2).
  • I believe … that to empower and guide me in this quest, the Holy Spirit of God dwells inside my soul to convict, counsel, and comfort me (John 14:26, Romans 5:5, Ezekiel 36:27).
  • I believe … that when I join with my fellow believers in the Church, anywhere and everywhere across space and time, God’s Kingdom is multiplied and God’s Name is glorified (Hebrews 10:24-25, 1 Thessalonians 5:11, Colossians 3:16).
  • I believe … that because of Jesus, I will one day embark on my greatest adventure, and I will leap from the clouded valleys of this life to the sunlit peaks of an eternity spent in the Presence of God (1 John 5:11, John 17:3, Romans 6:23).
